Jenny Watson

Jenny is an Associate Solicitor within our Private Client department and specialises in all aspects of Private client work, including:
- Wills
- Inheritance Tax planning, including lifetime gifting with a view to reducing inheritance Tax
- Lasting Powers of Attorney for property and financial affairs and health & welfare decisions
- Estate administration, including intestacies where there is no Will, and administration by attorneys where executors or beneficiaries cannot act. Applying for probate and Letters of Administration and guiding those dealing with the estate through the process from the outset
- Deeds of variation to vary a gift in a Will, post death
- Will trusts and their administration
Jenny graduated with a degree in Economics and Business Economics from Southampton University in 1990. She then worked and lived abroad before returning to complete the Postgraduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course, qualifying as a solicitor in September 1997. Jenny has spent most of her professional life, before joining Mercers in June 2016, with two large, Reading firms.
Jenny is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and a fully accredited member of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers (TALL), previously Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE).
